You must introspect to see if the rewards really mean a thing to you. Do you really need them or can you make good use of these reward points? If there is a restriction on the vendors through which you can redeem your reward points, it is better to visit these shops to check the quality of products they are selling.
Even with cash back rewards, there are companies who issue you check for the cash back, while others simply deposit the money accrued in your account. Do not just fall for rewards. If a company charges high rates of interest and also charges high annual fees, then howsoever reward points it may offer, they are all offset with the enhanced charges. You would do well to avoid credit cards that charge you more than they give.
